However, right now I am not complaining. I am feeling so grateful for our medical insurance, of which we pay 100%, through my hubby's company. My medical bills keep rolling in; a new one arrives almost daily. I couldn't even tell you how much everything has totalled to date with all the labs, radiology, office visits and surgery. The hospital bill, itself, was over $24,000. Last night we got a notice from our insurance provider that our amount of the hospital bill is less than $1000!!! We paid a $250 co-pay when I was admitted to the hospital so our remaining balance is actually just under $700!

I don't know how we would have managed my thyroid surgery without the insurance. I am certain that I would not have had the same level of care that I received if I were on some government program, or simply had no insurance coverage. And the bills? OMG! They would have devastated us financially.

So today I am thankful for the blessing of good health care insurance. It's a necessity in today's world, and such a blessing to someone, like me, who has had some serious health issues lately. We work hard and fork over a lot of money out of our own pockets every single payday, but it is so worth it when you realize you could have been stuck with more than $40K (at least) in debt and it will probably end up costing less than $5K in the long run.

Robrief no. 3: Daily Kos' dirty low-blow "eulogy" to Israel's 60th Anniversary celebration
Daily Kos is a blog representing the "best *cough-cough* bright" progressive-minded left-wingers in America and this nasty, conjectural piece of work is inconceivable and hard-to-swallow. Nice going, Daily Kos.

I will say this, as I'd predicted before: the end of Israel will not mean the beginning of peace in Palestine and the Mideast, it will mean more terrorism and violence in the future, particularly by some hardcore Jews who will fight to the death to avenge the loss of Israel and the homeland it represented for the world Jews (and Christians, Arabs, and Samaritans as well) for the last 60 years. No such concession to allow a micro Jewish state within Palestine will make up for such a loss. Too much bloods and sacrifices have been shed in Israel for 60+ years will not goes unanswered. The suggestion that Israel is an apartheid state is utterly ridiculous and conjectural, an invention cleverly conjured up by the anti-Semitic political radicals and Islamists worldwide. Mark my words: end of Israel will not mean peace in the Mideast in the future.

Robrief no 4: Obama was a born Muslim and he is an apostate to Islam, regardlessly
Edward Luttwak wrote a New York Times op-ed warning that if Barack Obama is elected President, his birth as a Muslim to a Muslim father and a Christian woman and his conversion to Christianity will be a problem for the leaders of the Islamic world. In some Islamic countries, voluntary apostasy from Islam is punishable by beheading or amputation of legs/arms. Sharia laws are on the rise worldwide and sharia banking is already gaining widespread interests within the global financial world, since in the next few or several years, the center of the financial world could shift from the Wall Street of New York to Dubai.

The only way for Obama to avoid the charge of apostasy from Islam and the threat of beheading is for him to renounce his Christian faith totally and return to Islam in an act of prostration. I don't think Obama would goes in that direction, given the fact he wanted to be viewed as a man born of two faiths, both to Christians and Muslims (the Indonesian brand of Islam?). We shall see.

Como ultimamente eu tive prova de biologia eu peguei meu megalivro da Sônia Lopes que me ajudou a acertar 10/14 questões. Engraçado também é que a página 161 é uma das páginas que eu estudei para fazer a prova kkk. Vejam:

Já leio para História, Sociologia, Geografia e Português então, acho que gastar meu tempo precioso lendo Harry Potter para depois ver o filme. UHAuh brincadeira.

The post Turned to stone contains an image of the preliminary sketch for this carving. We used a hammer and chisel to roughly outline the major parts of our design in limestone. I jumped the gun by chiseling around the mouth, nose and eyes a bit, but hopefully I didn't do any serious harm.  The next step will be removing lots of stone from the low areas in the design. After the high and low areas are roughed in, we get to start really shaping and refining things.

The high parts of this carving will be the hand, the tip of the nose, the *picture* right cheek/brow and the hair on the top right portion of the image, which is X'ed out so it will not be touched till later. Underneath the ear area will be one of the deeper parts of the carving so lots of stone will be removed there. The hair/fabric I have just roughed in so that I can fine tune the design in stone as I work.

It's nice that we do not have to wear a respirator while carving limestone. A respirator is required for granite and marble.

I'm excited about trying out stone carving with Paris Alexander here in the Raleigh area. He's great at patiently showing us how to use and hold the tools for good results. Without this, I would probably abandon stone. I woke up last night holding an imaginary chisel in my left hand just the way Paris taught me.

I still have high hopes for something that looks human when I'm done. I have a lot of stone left to remove and I can hardly wait till Saturday rolls around again.

Eu achei, então vou responder. Peguei o clássico livro O Senhor dos Anéis - A Sociedade do Anel. Se você ainda não leu, e é adepto dos livros de ficção, leia, leitor! (Ui, que péssimo essa frase... :P)

Poderia ter pegado também 'O Segredo' da minha mãe, que está logo ali na cômoda, mas com certeza a frase encontrada seria "Peça e será atendido" ou "Você pode tudo com o poder da mente", e não agüento mais isso. Mas então, aí está a quinta frase da página 161:

Usava um avental branco, e saía alvoroçado por uma porta para entrar por outra, carregando uma bandeja repleta de canecas cheias.

Quem usava o avental branco é o Sr. Carrapicho, um "homem gordo e baixo, careca e de rosto vermelho". O dono do Pônei Saltitante (meu Deus, isso é tradução que se faça?), local onde Frodo e seus companheiros se hospedaram por uma noite, enquanto estavam indo para Valfenda.
Ah, e se você não entendeu porra nenhuma, tome vergonha na cara e vá pelo menos assistir ao filme.

Bem, e aos outros blogueiros que nos mandaram memes no último mês e não respondemos, peço desculpas. É que a coisa está feia por aqui, todo mundo anda ocupado até o teto. Podem até observar que os posts tem sido menos. Mas prometo que assim que tiver um bom tempo livre, farei um post pra tirar o atraso do memes. :)

Specialmente in Italia, e in particolar modo negli ultimi anni, va di moda fare di nazismo e comunismo un unico bel pacchetto da dare in pasto al pubblico. Generalmente si sottolinea quanti ebrei furono uccisi dai due regimi. Questo basta per condannare il comunismo come copia uguale e contraria del nazismo, se non ancora peggiore, come evidenziato da edizioni politicamente necessarie come "Il libro nero del comunismo". Si e' ormai dimenticato chi invase chi e chi si difese da chi, chi sacrifico' 20 milioni di abitanti e chi intervenne alla fine del conflitto per motivi economici ... ma dopo 60 anni sono quisquiglie passate, e la storia la scrivono i cineasti (di cui Montesano fa pure parte, un caso?).

In questa scia revisionista e maledorante si inserisce la mostra "La canzone del male" di Gian Marco Montesano. Sottilmente Montesano discute di confronto fra metodologie di propaganda nazista e sovietica. Montesano copia e assembla poster propagandistici dell' epoca, ben sapendo che il messaggio recepito dal pubblico sara' ancora una volta "comunismo=nazismo=male".

Non entro nel merito di cosa fosse il meno peggio fra nazismo e comunismo ... la questione non avrebbe mai fine e so di non essere neutrale nel discutere la questione.

Tuttavia, essere Italiano, vivere in un epoca dove gli Stati Uniti guerrafondai la fanno da padrone e focalizzare ancora il pubblico sulla storia nazismo-comunismo senza introdurre un sano confronto tra propaganda del fascismo (I-T-A-L-I-A-N-O) del nazismo e dell'imperialismo (A-M-E-R-I-C-A-N-O), come fa il Montesano, e' da intellettuale per lo meno strabico.

Caro Montesano, non sono pittore e neppure cineasta: goditi la mia rassegna online. Un trittico (piu' azzeccato dei tuoi) tra le propagande occidentali di maggior successo. Un'idea per una mostra piu' intellettualmente onesta?
