Por otra parte, en otro Sit & Go de PKR quedé 185/2500, no estuvo mal, andaba corto de fichas, pero al final pasó lo de siempre: Hice All-In y el que dominaba la mesa llevaba buenas cartas y me eliminó.

Y ahora viene lo bueno... Acabo de terminar un torneo de Titan Poker, un beginners freeroll, pero atención al resultado: ¡¡16/1000!! He ganado 0,55$ sin invertir ni un centavo... Ha estado muy bien. Lo cierto es que el cambio de nivel en Titan Poker es a 10 minutos, esto hace que por un lado se alargue mucho el torneo, pero lo bueno es que puedes ser mas selectivo y pasivo con tus manos y jugar sobre seguro, jugando más Poker sin necesidad de arriesgar tanto.

Eso es lo que he hecho, y con mucha paciencia y jugando y apostando fuerte y con cabeza las buenas manos para sacar tajada, lo que sería un juego más bien "tight-agresivo", he conseguido aguantar muy bien. Por un rato estuve cuando quedábamos 50 jugadores (fase final) entre los diez primeros en fichas, llegando a colocarme el 5º.

El problema es que han sido 3 horas de torneo, a las 18.00 cojo un tren para Madrid y antes de las 16.00 aún estaba jugando... Supongo que la presión ha influido, tal vez pude llegar más lejos, pero igualmente estoy muy satisfecho con mi excelente resultado y progresión, ya que llevo menos de una semana jugando. ¡Cuando vuelva de Madrid más!

Mi conclusión es que para lograr buenos resultados, hay que llegar a etapas de ciegas altas con algo de dinero en condiciones ya acumulado, si no estás contra la espada y la pared.

He conseguido quedar 6º en un Sit & Go de 50 personas (PKR) y 447 en un freeroll de 2000. En este último, aguanté al final corto de fichas un buen rato, hasta que perdí en un ALL IN, en el que yo tenía 7 y K y mi oponente Q y 10. Me salió pareja de 7s en flop, pero me ganó el tío afortunado con pareja de 10s en la cuarta. Así es el poker.

Nota: Tengo que ser más paciente y esperar algo más que 7 y K antes de doblar con all-in cuando estoy corto de fichas.

Después de descubrir los torneos Freeroll y el reciente PKR (en 3D) que se ve bastante interesante. Estoy probando suerte en torneos con dinero ficticio y en torneos freeroll con pequeños premios, de hasta 50$ a repartir entre los 8 primeros. No es mucho, pero hace que la gente se lo tome más en serio. Juego en los siguientes sistemas:

- PKR
- Titan Poker

Después de varios Sit & Go de 50 personas, conseguí quedar el 8º en uno de ellos (dinero ficticio). Posteriormente probé suerte en dos Freeroll. Uno de 1000 personas en Titan Poker, en el que conseguí quedar el 306 haciendo algunas locuras, y otro de 2000 personas en PKR, en el conseguí quedar 434.

El torneo en Titan Poker era de principiantes, y me pareció que había poco nivel. Lo cierto es que me confié y me salió mal.

Y eso es todo, de momento.

We started at 2pm and i was quite pleased with my game. I played a tight aggressive game.  I would fold if i had nothing, but i would occasionally play the unpredictable hands to keep people guessing. I held the a decent chip size in my table during the first 4 hours. Then as the blinds went up, i realize that my chip stack has not increased by much.  This called for drastic action.  I started pushing with raises preflop when the blinds started going up, and one of the chip leaders decided to take a stand and reraise me 3x my raise with his 35 off suit. Wow! that takes balls to do.

i went into survival mode when we were down to the last 60 players. That was my biggest mistake of the game. There were times when the big stacks would raise preflop and i had a hand that i could fight with and i decided to fold, even if my big blind was already on the table. I wanted to wait it out for a better hand, and i found myself folding even an AT preflop.

Although i missed the money by 5 players, since the payout was only for the top 30 players, i was quite pleased with my game, but now i know better.  What i learned for this tournament is that when the blinds are going up and its starting to eat into your stack and your relatively short stack with only 15 to 20 times the big blind. Then you should start pushing. I would rather go out fighting in 50th place fighting than limping into 35th place with no more amo to move forward.  I basically got blinded out until i had nothing left.

I think my turning point was when i was big blind, and one of the short stacks went all-in, which is just a little bit more than my big blind, the chip leader on the button didnt just call, but reraised preflop to isolate her.  I had an AT and i knew i had a better kicker than he did, yet i was worried that he might get lucky and take me out, so i decided to fold my big bling, when i should've pushed him all in. I am sure that he would've called me since it was relatively small compared to his stack and he might think i was tilting. Anyway, when the community cards were dealt, i saw that i would've won the hand.  I could've tripled up if i had pushed and it would've given me a better fighting chance going into the final 40 players and i am sure if i had done that, i would've made the money and maybe even a chance to make the final table again.

But the experience taught me a great lesson that i will take to the next FPT, and I will aim to get a seat again in the Final Table.

If poker is not your forte, I am not suggesting you need to spend a lot of time learning it. I am also not recommending that being a poker affiliate (although I do it) is the best way to make commissions online. I am merely suggesting that there is free money to be made by playing in poker freerolls.

I play in a daily freeroll on CanadaPoker.com at 1:00pm (MST). I don't expect to win money everyday, but when I do it's a great feeling knowing that I made something from nothing. If you are already working online, you might as well be running some poker in the background. If you are like me, you are probably online a lot, and there is no real effort involved when it comes to taking a couple of seconds from your other work, to a play a quick hand. I recommend playing only quality types of starting hands, which is usually AA, KK, QQ, JJ, or other combinations that include an ace. You will be surprised at how well you will do if you stick to these starting hands when you are not completely paying attention to the game.

This post is not about poker or how to win at poker. I am only trying to show some of you what it is that I do on a regular basis to give my bank account a better chance of getting a profitable boost. When you do manage to make a few dollars in the many freerolls (on many sites) out there in cyberspace, avoid the urge to re-invest this money in the game. It won't take long to give back the money that you win by playing in a real money game. Forget that temptation and stick to your other money making strategies.

Feel free to comment on any successes that you have trying this method. There are so many other things I need to write and to show you all. I am going to make every effort to post at least daily on this blog. Not only is this in and of itself helpful, but it is also another step to increasing your online profits. We'll leave that topic for another day though.

Am Wochende vor unserem Atlantic City Trip hatte ich meinen letzten Turniersonntag, ich hoffe, dass es diesmal besser läuft, da ich beim letzten mal schlappe 600-700$ für Buy-ins rausgeballert habe...

Für das Lucky Ace und das Bodog Turnier rechne ich mir die besten Chancen aus, da diese beiden das schwächste und kleineste Feld haben.

Mein neuer Driver, Taylor Made Burner, 10,5 Stiff, hatte gestern Premiere und er hat mich nicht enttäuscht. Ich habe an 3 Löchern meine persönlichen Drivingrekorde gebrochen und durch den Stiff Schafft viel mehr Präzision bekommen.

Noch etwas positives - ich fange endlich wieder an die Greens aus 100-150m zu treffen, was auch dazu geführt hat, dass ich eine recht gute Runde gegangen bin. 4 Pars, 2 double Boogies und leider ein Strich, an allen anderen Löchern Boogie.

Nach den schnellen Greens und super gepflegten Vorgreens in den Staaten, war es voll die Hölle wieder unsere Schnecken-Greens zu spielen. Naja, da muss man wohl durch...

Pokertechnisch habe ich gestern nur den Big-Blind Freeroll bei Betsson gespielt. Es ging um 400$ in Cash und ein 150$ Ticket für den 1. Platz. Viel hab ich bei dem Turnier nicht gerissen und bin schon vor der ersten Pause raus geflogen.
