At the beginning of the week my friend Cristin was in town. It was a semi wonderful reunion with its highs and lows. She was in town because a good friend of hers, and an old school mate of mine, lost her 4 week old son after battling with his illness since finding out he was sick when she was 17 weeks pregnant. Seeing that baby in a coffin was the single worst experience I have ever had in my life. Watching my friend Cristin during this time was horrible too. Christin gave birth to her son, Angelo, only 4 weeks before Dawn and they were so excited to be having their babies together. They were sure that the boys would be best friends. Now, Cristin is depressed and feeling guilty because her baby is healthy while Dawn has lost 2 babies now. It was devastating. On a good note, though, I got to meet Angelo finally. He is a big, beautiful baby who I adore. I got a ton of pictures of him and I hope I get to see him again soon. 

Ärligt talat, vem är förvånad över att Linda och Elias åkte ut? 
Nej, de är inte dåliga, de är faktiskt riktigt duktiga. Musikaliska som få och kanske precis som juryn säger; färdiga artister. MEN, och det är ett stort men...det blir alldeles för präktigt och tråkigt. Oh my god vad trista de är när de står där med sina perfekt röster och sitt utstuderade sätt. Tänk att behöva se dem i, är det elva veckor?, i höst. Nej, vilken plåga.

Visst kan det vara så att det fanns andra som borde åkt före. Både Jenny och Jesper måste ju åka. Men faktum är att det inte spelar någon större roll. De enda som är intressanta att se är följande, i denna ordning:

Johan 
Anna

Förklaringen är enkel. Titta på Johan och Lars, de gör något helt eget, något intressant och kan bjuda på nyheter varje gång. De kanske inte har den finaste skönsången, men hur less är vi inte på vanliga fabriksframställda Idoler, stöpta efter samma form med helt opersonliga röster som används till att sjunga sjukt tråkiga MaxMartinkvalevor till ballader. SUCK!!! Sjukt konstigt att så kallade talangjägare kan sitta där och säga att en sångare till exempel klär sig som en bullmamma i tofflor, vilket inte passar när man sjunger rock. Visar bara på hur fel ute de är i dag - HALLÅ - det är inte 90-talet nu. "Snygg nattskjorta" säger de till Lars - Ja! Faktiskt! Kollar vi in mer långlivade legender så kan vi som oftast se att de inte är stöpta efter mallen, till exempel Michael Stipe, Curt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Liam Gallagher (Oki, vi efterapar visserligen hans stil i dag, men på hans tid...), ja, hur många exempel vill vi ha.

Det är dags att fatta det här nu, tråkiga fabrikörer på bolagen, tråkiga Idoljurys!

Varför LouLou och Sepideh är underhållande är ju inte direkt en svårknäckt nöt. De har något fantastiskt, något annorlunda, i sina röster, även om jag gärna räknar in det i skönsång. Men de har något som vi inte riktigt har i vårt avlånga land sedan tidigare. Något annorlunda - tueché.

Anna då. Jag måste säga att jag inte är helt såld på henne ändå. Trodde jag var det, men nej. Hon har en röst som chokar, den låter som om hon vore 40 +. Men det blir för mycket mummel, för mycket störningar på tråden. Men jag behåller henne ändå, för jag tror hon är en oslipad diamant. Hon kan göra stordåd bara hon hittar rätt. Hoppas jag. Hon är i alla fall tillräckligt annorlunda för att vara spännande att titta på, för att våga satsa på.

Det blir fem av elva, alltså mindre än hälften är intressant. Då kan jag alltså göra annat med mina fredagskvällar i minst sex veckor framöver. För hur duktig många av de andra än är så är de just tråkiga. Jag är ledsen Robin, Alice och Kevin, jag gillar er verkligen. Men ni är lite...ja, just tråkiga.

Fast tråkigast är ändå juryn, trots att jag gillar dem hundra gånger mer än den förra. Men de sitter där och säger att "Nej, Lars. Jag vet inte om du passar i Idol", precis som den förra juryn gjorde till de som inte passade in i mallen. Och sedan blir de chockade när publiken vill annat. När publiken vill se spännande och utanför ramarna. När vi vill se stordåd och udda. När vi vill chansa på wildcarden. Det kanske inte är så konstigt att Idol bara producerar Jessica Simpson och Mariah Carey-look-a-likes.

The vicar, who had helped himself to some brandy, was thinking back to when he had first arrived in this strange village. The previous vicar had passed away just a week before. He had been stealing opium from the local pharmacy at midnight, as was his habit. His wife being notoriously ugly, nobody in the village begrudged him this small eccentricity. On the night in question, he suddenly had a divine revelation that was strangely similar in nature to his opium hallucinations. The distinction was all the more difficult to discern due to the unusually large amount of opium he had consumed. It was as if some higher power had spoken directly to him and he suddenly knew what he must do.

Divesting himself of his clothes, he set out across the fields towards Twistlefox Manor where he somehow gained entrance to the servants' quarters. Once inside, he awakened the household by ringing the dinner gong and declaring at the top of his voice that he was a lost African tribe and demanded one thousand acres of good grazing land for his herd, lest he stoke high the flames of rebellion and discontent throughout the Great Plains. The butler, who was in the habit of sleeping in the upstairs maids' quarters, and whose disapproval of nocturnal visits from lost African tribes was legendary, promptly shot the old vicar and declared the tribe to be extinct.

As the vicar reminisced on the exploits of his predecessor, he remembered how nervous he had been when ghe first took up his new post. It was, in truth, a rather daunting task. Not many men would take upon themselves the work of a whole tribe without a few qualms. On the other hand, he wasn't overly worried
about the shoes he had to fill as, at the time, very few African tribes wore shoes. If he was careful, he could save a great deal on leather. As he was thus reminiscing, the bell rang for dinner, and Lady Twistlefox, inviting him to dine, put down the goblet, not without a twinge of regret. She would never admit this publicly, but she had grown attached to it.

At dinner that evening, the conversation revolved around Lady Twistlefox's prize-winning cucumber sandwiches. Even her husband, Lord Twistlefox, whose moods were usually either sullen and quiet, or violent and roaring drunk, had a noticeable gleam of pride in his eyes, although this could have been
attributable to the fact that he was halfway through his third bottle of port. The young Misses Twistlefox- twins who resembled their father in everything but looks and personality, in these they quite favoured the
Commander- gibbered away nonsensically, as young maids of seventeen are wont to do. Lord Twistlefox smiled indulgently, only occasionally restraining their youthful exuberance with a well-placed lash from the riding crop that was his constant companion. Indeed, so fond of the hunt was he that he rarely ever dismounted, even taking many of his meals from the saddle. In fact he usually only dismounted in order to sleep and to use the bathroom. His horse always seemed particularly enamoured of the sunset.

'I'm sure I have no idea how you do it my dear Constance.' said Lady Bloatedcorpse, Lord Twistlefox's cousin, and wife of the Secretary for Interdepartmental Anecdotes. She was a woman who was used to being listened to, both because of her position in society and the fact that her voice was so shrill that she regularly spooked the horses. It need hardly be mentioned that she was notoriously ugly. 'That's the fifth year running that you've won the cucumber sandwich festival. You must share your secret.'

'Mmmm!' replied Lady Twistlefox noncommittally. She would burn in the everlasting flames of Hades before she would reveal the secret of her sandwiches to Lady Bloatedcorpse or to anybody else. What they didn't know was that she had managed to refine the product of the cocoa plant, cocaine, separating it from its hydrochloride base producing something that she, with her subtle sense of humour, liked to call 'freebase'. She had also found a method of injecting this substance into her cucumbers in such a way as to provide maximum effect with minimum taste. She had first tried it on Gobsheen, the Irish gardener, who immediately proclaimed 'Now this is what I call havin' the craic!'

Gobsheen, to the everlasting torment of his wife, developed an unappeasable appetite for Lady Twistlefox's cucumber sandwiches, forsaking the bacon, cabbage and potatoes on which generations of Gobsheens had been raised. Even his love of ale, carefully nurtured from the age of six, had taken second place to 'Her Ladyship's tasty sangiches'. His drinking companions in the Throttled Toad noticed that of late he had but little interest in getting drunk and rowdy. He was a changed man, his heritage forgotten. His family, being rather dim-witted, could only remember vaguely and with nostalgia the good times, when he used to stagger in from the tavern and beat them for hours with nothing but his bare fists and the butt of his pistol, before settling down to a tremendous meal of bacon, cabbage and potatoes. For them, the simple pleasures of family life were no more. He took to secretly raiding the pantry after dark in order to procure more sandwiches, thus forcing the butler to shoot him.

Lord Twistlefox, learning of this, and knowing that Gobsheen's family would henceforth suffer financially, rode over to their hovel and, setting the thatched roof alight, shot them as they emerged. It was an act of kindness that did not go unrewarded, for, while tearing down the cottage, he discovered that the stones from which it was made would be perfect for the renovation of his stables.

And my god! The last episode was really really good! well at least I though it was. I really like Serena as a bitch! Like i'm used to Blair being that way, but not Serena! It's kinda a change cause before she was all anti high society (that dose not soud right) but now she is totally different! 

Though I gotta say, I really like Jenny (Taylor Momsen) She is really pretty, and I can't beleave that she is younger then me! Okay so I'm turning 16 on november 5th! and like she is only like 14? WHAT IS THIS?

Sorry, I'm really hyper this post, so spelling and grammar is tossed out the window!didn't anyone else think that Serena LOOKED amazing in the dress! Jenny is awesome for making something like that! Like I'm sorry it is just amazing that I might sit down sometime and make it! yeah I think I will! Plus I love the colour! (Lol it's my favorite!)

“THE PURE VOICE NEED NOT WHISPER-- In life, The sweetest dreams are made of what one desires most. Laughter, love and living among the blessings of the universe. It is the one true balance and essentials needed to grow, develop and progress. In a world where money fame and vanity enters and exit’s a stage faster than a flash of a paparazzo’s bulb, it is these dreams and desires that become a reality and a living antidote to the trails and tests of life. Although an average artist gets 15 minutes on stage in the spotlight to create an impact, it takes a lifetime to cultivate a legacy. To cultivate a legacy one needs to nurture oneself, evolve and let destiny take its course. At times, patience is the true virtue and in return life becomes a cocoon getting ready to burst , spread its wings and prepares to fly. These words are simple and could be used for encouragement, but simply reflect the life of a rising icon: Vanessa Conde.

Born to Dominican American parents in Washington Heights New York City, by the tender age of five, Vanessa Conde took singing lessons under much encouragement from her mom, Dr. Maredia Warren, an accomplished organist and music teacher who also was another source of Vanessa's personal and professional development. At age 17, Vanessa had been accepted into Westminster Choir College as a Vocal Performance Major, a prestigious music school in Princeton New Jersey. There she encountered exceptional teachers but faced many challenges. Her counselor discouraged her from becoming an opera singer, as the industry contained minimal representation of Hispanic American artists. This made Vanessa even more determined to succeed despite the odds. She studied exclusively at Westminster with Soprano Lorna MacDonald. She participated in the New Jersey State (National Association of Teachers of Singing) and placed 8th in the state as a Sophomore (1992) and 6th as a Senior Undergraduate (1997). Soon after She founded the Black and Hispanic Alliance Support Group for students. Its purpose was to support the dreams of the minority musician not discourage them. Before transferring to Montclair State, she was awarded the 1993 Campus Leadership Award. At Montclair State University, she majored in Vocal Performance and studied voice under former New York City Opera baritone Edward Pierson. Mr. Pierson was one of the first African Americans to perform at the New York City Opera. She performed stage versions of Hansel & Gretel as the mother, George Bizet’s Carmen as Carmen and Menotti’s The Old Maid & A Thief as Miss Todd. She was winner of the Oscar Ravina Vocalist Competition and performed with maestro Ravina and the University’s Orchestra. In addition she performed in two summer operas in central parks concert and was featured in the NJ Star Ledger along with other aspiring young soloists.

As a classical vocalist, Vanessa's voice has no limitations performing Italian arias and operatic roles such as: Delilah from Samson and Delilah, and as Carmen in Bizet's Carmen. Vanessa was featured in the January 2007 Issue of SKOPE National Music Magazine: “From the Opera Stage to the Dance Floor” by Jason McNeil available at Barnes and Noble book stores nationwide. Although Vanessa Conde was trained in the finer arts, as a child growing up in Washington Heights in New York , she also grew up on a musical diet of Latinhiphop/Freestyle/Dance and underground House music. Due to her personal social experiences and obstacles in her educational and professional life; she felt represented by pioneering American Hispanics opening new doors in uncharted musical markets for second generation 80’s Latin artist; such as Joey Kid, George LaMond, Safire, Sandee, and Expose. In the process, making it her life dedication to also follow in those footsteps and continue to keep that legacy alive.

Jump forward to 2008 and Vanessa can be heard in International Dance clubs and radio stations with her House club hit “Let The Music Play” with distribution through Shake Italy/Warner Brothers International . At the same time breaking new ground with another dance club release , also written by her, “Peace and Love” (Soundgroove records) with production by Midnight Society and Alma Matriz ( of Tribal Circuit anthem fame “Rapido” and “Music Electrica”). Already having cultivated a following from her previous Freestyle/Trance song “For You” on Detour records, she also has on her past belt several on stage cameo appearances and impromptu performances with fellow artist such as Amber, George Lamond and known for taking part in massive community events as the Jersey City Puerto Rican Festival, The Community Fair For Children and New Jersey City Gay Pride; just to name a few.

By late March 2008 Ms. Conde would wrap up her Winter Music Conference week tour in Miami and appeared in a line of showcases in Venues like Voodoo Lounge, Score, The world famous La Bodegita del Medio, Club BOOM and add them to her list of venues such as Heaven New York, Serena Night Club New York, the now defunct OZONE Miami, and even her performance on Telemundo “Despierta America” Channel 41 New York/Tri state area.

In the Summer of 2008 she gears up to release a line of new self written material on Miami’s DESTUNE records; with original traditional and Neo-Freestyle versions and remixes provided by a line of DJ/Producers including DJ Jorge Ojeda, DJ Connie Casserole, DJ Vidal , Maximus 3000 , and many more. In addition, Vanessa also will be debuting material with projects with Safire, Joey Kid, Alma Matriz and can also be found having label mates like CORONA (Shake/Warner) and SANDEE (DESTUNE). Praised by international producer Johnny Vicious as a “GRAND VOICE”, Vanessa is ready to bring her songwriting into another realm! As she continues to get club and radio play, including play on XM and Sirrius Satellite Radio, she will be making history in May 2008 as the first new generation NEO- Freestyle vocal artist to perform on the Pacha/DJ Peter Munch float during the New York Dance Music Parade, Alongside Major Recording Artists and DJs.

Astep not taken before, especially for a predominant “house” music event, but a reflection of the changing times and musical switch due to the “ELECTRO” awareness and preference of the current day. Although Vanessa Conde’s career is gearing into a higher chapter, her awareness of her position as a vocal dance artist and the positive influence she is now having on a new generation of independent freelance dance artist is what keeps her motivated, humble and well grounded. Vocal artist, BMI songwriter, Business Woman; It is her inner Love for Dance music she shares with her family and friends, the laughter she brings people and the joy of life which keeps her in balance as her dreams become real life blessings as she spread her wings from her cocoon.“
