          Esse é clima do CD Mais que os Querubins, novo trabalho dos monges beneditinos do Mosteiro Abadia da Ressurreição, de Ponta Grossa (PR), lançado pela gravadora CODIMUC.

          O disco traz 27 faixas, entre cânticos e textos marianos da liturgia diária dos monges, numa verdadeira declaração de amor à Virgem Maria, Mãe de Deus, “mais santa que os santos”, “mais venerável que os querubins e incomparavelmente mais gloriosa que os serafins”.

          Entre os destaques do disco estão a Homilia de São Bernardo, que fala sobre a ansiosa espera do universo pela resposta de Maria à anunciação do anjo Gabriel, e Salve Regina, conhecido cântico da Igreja em louvor à Virgem Maria.

          Aproximando o clima da vida monástica ao dia-a-dia das cidades, Mais que os Querubins conta com as participações especiais de Fafá de Belém, na canção Sou Morena; Pe. Fábio de Melo, em Virgem Prudentíssima, e Pe. Reginaldo Manzotti, na música Apressa-te. Os três também cantam juntos na faixa Salve, ó Maria, que encerra o disco.

          Com arranjos primorosos de Thiago Ingenchki, o CD conta com orquestração de Luiz Karam, regência de Edielson Aureliano e direção vocal de Karla Fioravante, do grupo Cantores de Deus.

• Improved Message Reader View
  • This is the first stage of a series of improvements to refine the message reading experience; the first stage brings email controls closer to area in which the user is operating.
• Add/Edit Contacts from the Message Header
  • We now provide at-a-glance indication if someone is already in your address book, if they are not, you add them with one click. You can also edit contact details inline.
• Integrated Vista Search
  • Windows Vista users can now choose to see Thunderbird email and news messages in Windows search results. On first start Thunderbird will prompt to install its indexing system into Windows Vista.
• Birthday Field in Address Book
  • You can now enter the dates of your contacts birthdays into the address book.

Performance improvements

• Automatic Message Download for IMAP
  • Thunderbird will now download IMAP messages in the background to allow for faster message loading, and better off-line operation.
  • This feature can be enabled on an individual folder basis (via folder properties), or for all folders in an account, via Account Settings / Sync & Disk Space.

Microsoft announces new rich Internet applications development and streaming media features; company outlines plans for supporting Windows, Mac and Linux tools for developing Silverlight applications. Microsoft also announced further support of open source communities by funding advanced Silverlight development capabilities with the Eclipse Foundation's integrated development environment (IDE) and by providing new controls to developers with the Silverlight Control Pack (SCP) under the Microsoft Permissive License.

Singer Kim Jong-guk, who finished his military duty in May, will release his fifth studio album on October 22. Celebrated Korean songwriters, including Kim Do-hoon, Lee Hyun-do, Cho Young-soo, Hwang Chan-hee, Jung Jin-soo, Han Sang-won, Dr. Norman, Yoon Sara and Cho Yoon-hee, have united under the helm of producer Choi Min-hyuk for Kim's latest album.

During a recent interview, Kim thanked his fans for their unflagging love and support and that he put his heart and soul into his latest album. Prior to the album's release, he unveiled a 30-[second] teaser video of his new album on TV and the Internet. The comic video features a slew of unlikely characters, including two men in a delivery room, two girls at a beauty salon, a woman biting her nail, a nervous-looking man in a waiting room and a man rolling around on the floor in front of a cup of noodles all checking the time. They are simultaneously visited by a deliveryman who hands them Kim's latest album.

All of the characters in the video were played by new actors as well as regular people. The man with the cup of noodles is none other than MC Mong's manager Lee Hoon-seok, who has appeared in a number of TV programs including "Two Days and One Night," a popular segment on KBS 2TV's "Happy Sunday."

So I have almost wrapped up my new rig, which is a hybrid synthesizer set-up that I intend to use on the new album. My old friends, namely the ESQ are back as I wrote in a previous post, and since then I've found a few worthy additions to my software instrument setup. But recently, I also acquired another VSS-30, which is my favorite sampler in the world. Additionally, I have been using my Nintendo DS more and more. Add to the mix my Kaos Pad (KP3), and you have the makings of a cool rig.

But of course, I didn't stop there. I recently bought the Omnichord, which is really warm, and an MFB Synth II (100% analog synth). My Gakken and optical theremin (self-made) of course rounds it all out.

Last night I made some videos to show how I turned these things into a working writing rig. And it is pretty cool. Lots of flashing lights and video synthesis. I will post these. The new studio looks like a crazy lab, so I think I'm going rename it... Something but I don't know what just yet.

With this, I am hoping to finish up two things which stand in the way of progress. The first is Volume One, which we hope to wrap up soon, and the other is Sharewear, which will have most of the material from the first two and some surprises for all.

The artwork will feature a sketch by Werner Von Braun that has not been seen in public since 1952. But that's another story for another day as this unfolds...
